Good news for Wii fans that are upset about the poor 512MB built-in memory of Nintendo Wii and the incompatibility between the units system and standard USB drives. Looks like Nintendo is planning to create Wii external storage devices.

There’s a job advertisement posted on Nintendo.com looking for a tester who can generate and perform a test plan for Wii’s External Storage devices. So could this be the solution we have all been searching for when it comes to storing many Virtual Console games?

This is attention-grabbing since the main obstacle Square Enix had when linking Final Fantasy XI to the Nintendo Wii was the shortage of internal memory. Square Enix tying the game to a system that has mostly swamped the market in Japan could go further developing their failing end product with the extra monthly fees they would be standing in.
